Jan Elston
Macleay Island QLD
I was born in England and now live with my partner on Quandamooka country surrounded by the beautiful waters of the Southern Moreton Bay, Queensland.
Fuelled by a love of learning, growth, and development, I have worked for over 25 years in individual, team, organisational and community education and development. I encountered participatory methods over 10 years ago and was immediately drawn to this inclusive and empowering way of working which called me to step into my own leadership and be accountable for my actions and interactions.
I am passionate about using participatory methods to create and support psychologically safe spaces which enable people to do their best work together. As a Circle Way and Art of Hosting practitioner and a Flow Game host, I have experienced how these approaches can support deep connection, creative thinking, and innovative shared practice and action.
Alongside my participatory practice, I have been working in the field of mental wellbeing, supporting participants to sustain themselves in their community recovery work and leading the uptake of the evidence-based Wheel of Wellbeing in Queensland, which supports individuals, workplaces, and communities to improve their positive mental health and flourish.
